What a perfect ending to this series!I feel as if in The Way We Rise we really got to know who Rory and Houston really were. Sure, we got to know them in the previous two books, but in this one, we got to see what really made these two characters. Seeing them go through being apart and finding their way back to one another was beautiful.Rory is dealing with the aftermath of what happened with Liam, and her father coming back into her life. Seeing her really grieving over everything she's gone through in the past six years was something this story needed. It helped us see what really made Rory, Rory. It was heartbreaking to see her go through some of the things she did, but at the same time, she came out stronger and more sure of herself than she was before. Rory is a hilarious character and she made me laugh multiple times in this book (I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not, but she's kind of crazy at times!).Houston was definitely the more mature character in this book, and he also had to figure things out before him and Rory could move forward once and for all. Seeing how much he loved Rory and the things he did to make her happy was beautiful. Houston really is an amazing character and I adore him! Seeing his character grow from The Way We Fall to this final book is amazing. He has become kind of a perfect man!All the twists and turns in this series become resolved in The Way We Rise and we get to see Rory and Houston finally be happy and not carry around all the emotional baggage we've seen them with for so long. Granted, there are parts in this book that are not easy for them, and I really thought this book was over too soon, until I realized that the Epilogue was LONG and absolutely stunning!Rory and Houston's story is a beautiful story dealing with some difficult issues, but in the end things definitely work out how I wished they would. If you've read the previous two books in this series, you MUST read this book to see how things end up in this epic love story. This series and this book is highly recommended!
