Pearson is a good storyteller, with believable characters and substantial plots.Pearson’s lack of research bothers me, for example, “the smell of cordite.” This substance hasn't been used since 1945 WWII. Being a personal friend of Stephen King, Greg Iles, and the other band members, I would think that one of those friends would constructively point this faux pas out to him. That said, the mistake falls upon the copy editor. Not only does cordite come up in his books, but Walt’s physical description changes. In book three of Walt Fleming, the height of Walt is 5’10”, but in book four, Walt shrunk to 5’7”. (Insert emoji eye roll or oh brother)These are not reasons to avoid reading anything Pearson produces because he is a good writer. In fact, I have most of his writings in my Kindle library.
