...an adult can learn it! Seriously, this book had me very competent on the recorder (a Yamaha 312B, which I also recommend) in just a few sessions. Very, very simple to use and great for kids too. Also, its one of the cheaper, and longer books on the subject so you get more note for your buck. Just to clarify, this is a beginners book. It teaches you how-to from finger placement and mouth placement, to reading sheet music and understand note placement and meaning. It has songs, but they're kids songs and you don't get more than about 30. This it for a true beginner, if you know how to read sheet music and you just want some songs to play for your recorder, move along.
