This recording is lively, fun, and exciting with the perfect mix of nice mellow songs. I haven't stopped listening to it since I bought it. The wonderful mix of violin and guitar on Abide With Me gets this recording off to a great start and sets the tone for the songs that follow. The more I listen to Abide with Me the more I love Bethany's violin on that song. I enjoyed every song on this recording, but on the upbeat side I particularly like A Christmas Jig/Mouth of the Tobique Reel (great violin sound with a lot of variety), Cuckoos Nest, and Scott Valley Rain, On the softer side I found the mellow tone of Ashokan Farewell to be chill producing from the very first note and The Violet Hour to be very rich and captivating with nice piano and guitar. The final track, Burnt Over District/Burying Song, is chillingly wonderful and probably the highlight of the CD. But, there is not a bad song on this recording. Love it! GREAT job Bethany!
