For those who are looking for easy, entertaining, and clean fun, this book is a great start to a larger adventure. The first book of a series, it gives a wonderful foundation for characters to be introduced and relatable. Most of the characters are shown with flaws that brings a theme to a wonderful character growth (arc). The antagonists have depth to them as well, which creates a good dynamic between good vs. evil. The action and battles was my favorite part and had a great rhythm in story-telling. A warning to those who are not used to the style, the chapters are short. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just different. By the time you delve into a few chapters, you are immersed in the story that the flow of story-telling isn't much of a bother. There are some instances that the style of breaks help with heightening the drama and suspense. The world/universe is inspiring and has lots to go off on (which makes it exciting for the future books). A young adult fantasy book that all ages can read and enjoy. Plus, who doesn't like dragons?
