So, let me first say that I'm a big fan of Mika Jolie. No, I'm not getting paid, nor am I getting anything for free. What I am getting is the experience of watching a blossoming writer tell a story that makes even the most jaded believe in the power of love. Tattooed Hearts is a love story. Yes, you can expect there to be a HEA. That's a given in most romance books. But the HEA is not the story, the actual story is the journey. And it is the way the writer weaves the the telling of the journey that makes this a totally satisfying and rewarding read. It's also about First Love......the kind of love you discover but don't even know it's love because you're too young. And as you age, life throws so many curve balls your way that you move along, living a life that never quite feels fulfilled because it's missing the one thing that you thought you'd never have again.....First Love. And that, is the story of Forrest and Claire. It's an emotional ride with just enough of everything that makes for a good read....it's just enough good times, just enough angst and just enough revelations to make it a real story about real people. If you're a Mika Jolie fan, then you already know Jason and Minka and Blake and Keely, Adam and Lily and you've been introduced to Forrest and Claire as supporting characters to their stories. But, this....this is Forrest and Claire's story, but it's a story that is best told including all the characters that we've come to know. It's a standalone story, but some of the twists and turns involve characters from The Scale and Need You Now.Why do I love it so much.....because I love a love story! And love a good love story! But don't take my word for it, read it for yourself.
