Young Black Man There Is Another Way was written to provide a platform for young men of color to see beyond their present situation (good, bad, or indifferent) to the future of their own individual dreams. This book urges young men to push aside the temptations of their surroundings in order to dive deeply into their innermost being to discover their passion, purpose, and what they want to do with their lives. With chapters titled, "Be Authentically You," "Choose the Road Less Taken," and "Take a Chance on Yourself," Dr. Antonio Cooper challenges young men of color to make their dreams become tangible and take calculated steps towards accomplishing them. Dr. Cooper also shares bits and pieces from his journey, which he admits that he is still actively on. He doesn't have it all figured out, but wanted to share what he has learned from his experiences to help those who are behind him. The content in this book is for young men of color from all walks of life. Most books geared towards Black youth are only addressing young men from troubled backgrounds. While Dr. Cooper most certainly has information for them, he also has great information for young men who are performing at the top of their class and for young men who are average at best.
